National Research Institute of Unani Medicine for Skin Disorders (NRIUMSD), National Research Institute of Unani Medicine for Skin Disorders (NRIUMSD), Hyderabad (Formerly Central Research Institute of Unani Medicine (CRIUM), Hyderabad) is a decentralized Institute working under the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) - an autonomous organization under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. It was established in December, 1971 under the erstwhile Central Council for Research in Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy (CCRIMH), which was set up in 1969. Dr.YOUNIS IFTHIKAR MUNSHI, MD (Unani Medicine)

Dr. Younis Iftikhar Munshi is presently working as I/C Director of the National Research Institute of Unani Medicine for Skin Disorders, Hyderabad (Formerly Central Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Hyderabad). After receiving basic education from the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, he completed his BUMS from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh in 1992.
He joined the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine in 1993 as an Assistant Research Officer (Unani); he was promoted to Research Officer (Unani) in 1996. In 2006, he completed his MD in Tahaffuzi Wa Samaji Tibb (Preventive and Social Medicine) from Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. Dr. Munshi has been working at RRIUM, Kolkata as Head of the Institute since 2018, and he was promoted to Deputy Director of RRIUM, Kolkata in June 2021.
Dr. Munshi has 31 years of experience in the field of Unani medical research. He has significantly contributed to clinical studies conducted by the CCRUM on several health conditions including Chronic Rhinosinusitis, Post-Menopausal Syndrome, Frostbite, Osteoarthritis, Juvenile Rheumatoid, Essential Hypertension, Cervical Erosion, and Bronchial Asthma.
